The Poster was created at a Design Hackathon about Democracy in Germany. Through a conceptual and iterative process another student and I decided on the powerful first phrase of the fundamental laws as it is engraved in every German early on.
challenge.
As the intention is to raise awareness on the fragility of democracy in current times, it starts with the paragraph “Human dignity is…” but the end is replaced with “our responsibility”. It highlights how a lot of democratic principles are violated (e.g., discrimination) and that it is our responsabilty to uphold them.
result.
The poster achieved second place, as voted by an interdisciplinary jury, based on its strong conceptual and visual quality. Following the award, it was exhibited in multiple locations across Stuttgart, Germany, where it reached a diverse public audience.
