about.
“La Nonna” captures the simple yet intentional rhythm of my Italian grandmother’s everyday life in a small town in Northern Italy.
The series unfolds from morning to evening, portraying the places, people, and habits that shape her day. Through culinary traditions and scenes of shared togetherness, the photographs reflect the essence of Italian culture — where food, family, and community are deeply intertwined.

challenge.
The challenge was to authentically document everyday life without staging or interfering with natural moments. Rather than focusing on special occasions, the project aimed to reveal the significance of ordinary routines and subtle interactions. Capturing these intimate moments required building trust to someone who is not familiar with being in front of cameras, observing patiently, and translating personal experiences into a visual narrative that resonates beyond a single family story.
result.
The series tells a personal story through ordinary moments, revealing how daily routines, food, and social connections shape everyday life. It provides a look into Italian culture.
